🛬 Day 1: Bagdogra/NJP – Phuentsholing
Distance: 172 km Travel Time: Approx. 4 hours 10 minutes
Welcome to Bagdogra/NJP! On arrival, you will drive to Phuentsholing and check into your hotel after completing immigration formalities with assistance from our professional guide and tour operator. (Altitude: 300m / 985 ft)
Phuentsholing is a thriving commercial frontier town located at the base of the Himalayan foothills. It’s a fascinating melting pot where various ethnic groups—Indians, Bhutanese, and Nepalese—intermingle. As the border town, Phuentsholing serves as a convenient entry and exit point for Bhutan and also acts as a key link to the Indian states of West Bengal, Sikkim, and Assam.
Evening: Take a relaxing walk around the downtown area.

🏙️ Day 2: Phuentsholing to Thimphu
Distance: 165 km Travel Time: Approx. 4 hours 45 minutes
After an early breakfast, drive to Thimphu. En route, enjoy sightseeing stops at:
- Zangtopelri Goenpa
- Crocodile Breeding Centre
- Kharbandi Goenpa
Upon arrival in Thimphu, check into your hotel. Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital city, uniquely blends modern development with ancient traditions. With a population of around 90,000, it remains perhaps the only capital in the world without traffic lights.
Evening: Explore the government-run Handicrafts Emporium and the main street, where you can browse examples of Bhutan’s fine traditional arts.

🏯 Day 3: Thimphu Sightseeing
After breakfast, enjoy full-day sightseeing in Thimphu, including:
- Kuensel Phodrang (Buddha Dordenma Statue) – A massive Buddha statue atop a hill offering panoramic city views.
- Handicrafts Emporium
- National Library
- Changangkha Monastery
- Zorig Chusum (Institute of 13 Traditional Arts & Crafts)
- Textile Museum
- National Memorial Chorten (Monument)
- Craft Gallery
- Folk Heritage Museum
Afternoon Visit:
- Takin Preserve Centre – Home to Bhutan’s national animal, the Takin, a unique creature that appears to be a blend of goat and cow and is not found anywhere else in the world.
- Tashichho Dzong – Fortress of the Glorious Religion.
- Craft Bazaar Market

🏔️ Day 4: Thimphu to Paro (Local Sightseeing)
After breakfast, drive to Paro and begin sightseeing:
- National Museum of Bhutan – Located above Rinpung Dzong, the museum is housed in the ancient Ta-Dzong (watchtower) and showcases Bhutan’s cultural heritage. Established in 1968, its collection includes ancient scrolls, paintings, and bronze statues—true masterpieces.
- Rinpung Dzong – Built in 1646 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, the first spiritual and temporal ruler of Bhutan. The Dzong houses the monastic body of Paro, along with administrative and judicial offices.
- Nyamai Zam Bridge – Known as “The Bridge with No Fish.”
Return to the hotel and relax.
Overnight stay in Paro.
🏞️ Day 5: Paro to Phuentsholing
Distance: 160 km Travel Time: Approx. 4 hours 30 minutes
After breakfast, drive back to Phuentsholing.
Evening: Take an exploratory walk around the Main Street and market area.

🚐 Day 5: Phuentsholing – Departure
After a hearty breakfast, check out from the hotel and complete the exit formalities with help from our professional guide and tour operator. Drive to New Jalpaiguri Railway Station / Bagdogra Airport.
